Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy explains what Sweepfox ("the app", "we") does with your information. The short version: the app works on your iPhone, has no server, and we never see your photos, contacts or emails.
Photos and videos
With your permission, the app looks through your photo library on your iPhone to find duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, screen recordings and large videos. All of this happens on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is deleted unless you confirm it. Photos you delete go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app first. Videos you compress are saved back to your photo library.
Contacts
With your permission, the app reads your contacts on your iPhone to find duplicates and incomplete cards. Before it changes or removes a contact, it saves a backup in the app's folder on your iPhone, which you can see in the Files app. Contacts are never uploaded.
Secret Library
Photos and videos you move to the Secret Library are stored inside the app on your iPhone, protected by Face ID or your passcode. They aren't uploaded, and they're deleted if you delete the app.
Gmail
The Email Cleaner is optional. If you sign in with Google, the app asks for permission to read and change your
Gmail messages (the gmail.modify permission). It uses that permission only to:
- count and list your emails by category (Promotions, Social, Updates, Forums and Spam) and by sender, showing each email's sender, subject, date, size and a short preview;
- move the emails you choose to Trash, or archive them, when you ask it to;
- unsubscribe you from a mailing list when you tap Unsubscribe.
Your emails go only between your iPhone and Google. We don't store them, don't send them to any server, and can't see them. Your sign-in token is kept in your iPhone's Keychain. Your cleaning filters, including any keywords you add, are saved only on your iPhone. When you tap Unsubscribe, the app sends the request to that sender's own unsubscribe address, which is how the sender learns you want to stop receiving their emails.
The app never permanently deletes email. Anything it cleans goes to Gmail's Trash, where you can restore it for 30 days. You can sign out at any time, which removes the app's access with Google. You can also remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sweepfox's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Gmail data for ads, don't sell it, don't let people read it, and don't use it to train AI models.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details.
Analytics and ads
The app has no ads, no tracking and no analytics, and it doesn't share your information with anyone.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
